We are consumed by the vehicle.

Due November 16, 2021

In most cities in the US and a lot of the cities of the world, getting around without a car or at least access to a vehicle of some kind is nearly impossible. Mass transit can help, as does public transportation – but what of those times when the tracks don’t go where you need to.

When mass transit is not available we are then left to find some sort of vehicle to get us there.

So, however you get around – or would like to get around… THAT is how you roll.

Bike, Trike, Motorcycle, Car, Hotrod, Bus, Train, Converted School Bus with a built-in studio… hey, that sounds pretty cool. Whatever – this is your opportunity to make it your subject.

Some rules – sort of.

ONE:
“YOUR VEHICLE RULE”:
This should be a glamour, beauty shot of your mode of transportation, or favorite mode. It is NOT a photograph of your neighbor’s new Ferrari, or a city bus driving down the road. My Aston Martin is in the shop, so you can’t shoot it either.

If you decide to photograph your own vehicle, make it a contextual shot that conveys how you feel about the vehicle, or its surroundings or any other unique story that you can tell with the photograph.

Show us where you go, what you do, and how the vehicle you roll in is absolutely awesome. Even if the only awesome thing about it where you get to go with it.

TWO:
“NOT YOUR VEHICLE RULE”:
Now if you decide you want to shoot something other than your vehicle, then it has to be something so amazing that we are impressed. A truly great bike, or an incredible hot rod. I do not want you to simply find a car and photograph it, I want you to have the owner with the vehicle. Yep… owner and vehicle… and tell a story, please.

THREE:
“PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION RULE:”
If you are going to shoot a subway, train, bus, limo, Uber… whatever, you absolutely must show us people in transport. Preferably yourself – even if it is a POV shot. Taking a photo of a train passing by is NOT gonna cut it. Put us ON the train, IN the limo. This has to be a killer shot, so work it with a great concept.

You may have to do some scouting and asking of permissions for this shot. Good. We want you to do that.

THE BRIEF:

How we roll is all about our vehicles. Cars, bikes, trikes, skateboards, scooters, unicycles, trucks, and buses. How we roll is about the nature of motion – the nature of the road.

What is it about the vehicles themselves that make us fall in love with them and want our own? Why does a motorcycle hold such enchantment and folklore? Skateboards are coveted by certain young people, while others long for the pedals and the bike on the open road. People flock to car and boat shows for the brief moment of being around them.

The collateral is for an insurance company that wants to break into new markets, and they want to be seen as the best coverage for whatever you ‘roll around in’. There will be billboards, website pages, and trade ads from your shoot, but we are only concentrating on this particular shot.

It is a “hero” shot, so treat it as such.

This particular photo is for the brochure cover, which is included for you to download.

Horizontal image in color, full-bleed cover and back page.

NOTE: The cover is on the right, and the back page is on the left. Image wraps all the way around the brochure.

And make special note that the image is quite wide and not very tall… you MUST shoot for this crop.

(Always a wrinkle in the gig… heh. That’s why we get the big bucks.)

The dimensions are 11.2 x 3.73. (then size it to 1000 pixels)
HERE IS THE PSD. DO NOT CHANGE TEXT/STRIPE/FOLD.
