52: ASSIGNMENT FIFTY TWO

SHOOT YOUR PROMO IMAGE

SCHEDULE CHANGE OCTOBER 2

2019 MORNING GROUP: 6 AM PACIFIC
2018 MORNING GROUP: 7 AM PACIFIC

SATURDAY MAKEUP CLASS: 5 AM PACIFIC

WELL… Here we are.

Assignment 52.

Look around and see who made it to the finish line with you all.

Impressive that you are here.

We are going to design your first (possibly) postcard or email campaign image so we need you to shoot something really special for this promotional piece.

  1. It should show what you do.
  2. It should show how you do it (style).
  3. It should be something you are extremely proud of.
  4. It should make someone want to see more.

The postcard design is one that is a little oversized: 6×9 inches.

It can be vertical or horizontal… but it should be very attention grabbing.

Think color and design.

Think minimalism or rock it with textures and props… as long as your portfolio backs it up.

START WORKING ON IT NOW…

This is a big shot for you, so make it incredibly powerful.

That does not mean it has to be challenging. It can be simple and yet dramatic.

It may not even be dramatic.

But it has to stop me when I get to it in my stack of mail.

I will include some possible layouts in a few days.

These will be PSD files so you can layer your image in.

IN ADDITION:

We want to do a final book for this class, so I need you to have 5 images ready to go for when I ask for them.

Full size, full resolution.
JPEG.
Prefer Adobe 1998, but happy with SRGB if that is what you use.

Store them somewhere so you can retrieve them quickly.

More coming.

Questions? Ask me on the class meetings.
