Specifics:

A client has called. She is looking for something fun for a couple of pages in the magazine. The magazine is one that serves your state (region) and it is mostly food, lifestyle, and local travel (best bar, best waterpark – that sort of thing.)

She wants three images from you:

INTRO page: Vertical, full page, 9×12 ratio.

ADDITIONAL PHOTOS: Vertical or Horizontal – it is up to you.

She has told you the following:
– Bright colors are great!
– People are super great!
– Pets are exciting.
– Food, but only if it is being consumed.
– Fun, playful, exciting.

There ya go!

The issue is their “Late Summer” edition and it is all about back to school, preparing for winter, summer activities winding down, the upcoming autumn season, some simple fashion, and food for the road.

So now you know what is in the magazine. This is called an editorial calendar, and it helps you to make some decisions that may fit in nicely with the other articles.

They will write the story after you submit the images, so make sure you have enough notes to help their writer do a good job writing about your photos.
