2019: 15: ASSIGNMENT FIFTEEN: ONE. RED. BALLOON

Due July 16, 2019

This is a concept assignment and I only got two words for you…

1.
Red.
Balloon.
(Technically two words and one numeral…)

Yep… that is your assignment… a Red Balloon.

Shoot it YOUR way, any way YOU want to shoot it.

I do not care what you do with it… but impress me.

IMPRESS your peers and colleagues.

IMPRESS YOURSELVES.

This is what we call a concept shot. There will be more, but this one will drive you nuts if you let it.

Have no fear that there are others that are worse… bwahahahaha.

Here’s the skinny… I do not care about how you shoot the red balloon, or in what style or what you have as subject matter… only that red balloon features prominently in the shot. The red balloon can be THE subject, or the subject can be interacting with the red balloon… or perhaps it is a vignette with a red ballon prominently featured… or even subtly featured but visible.

Heh.

Inspiration… (whoa, bucko… it is for inspiration only… heh.)

Yep… it has been done before.

Now you do it your way, with your style… and better than it has ever been done before.

What makes a balloon so much fun?
What is the smallest denominator that we can find to say “balloon”?
What about reflections?
Can a ballon be threatening?
Can a balloon be inspiring?
Where would a balloon fit into your vision of the apocalypse (zombies optional)?
What is the most tender photo of a red balloon that could be made?
Can a balloon be a metaphor?
Or a is it as Freud said: “sometimes a balloon is just a balloon.”

I don’t know. These are questions for you to answer visually.
