Today a discussion on Instagram / Facebook and what we learned – now how do we respond with our work?

I had the workshop on creativeLIVE going in the background yesterday. Some points made me stop and really pay attention.

NOTES:

1. Shoot more vertical images.
2. Make sure there is a POV.
3. Have an ‘opinion’ (style)
4. Post consistently.
5. Build organically.
6. Deliver value with a more robust description (caption)
7. Engage.
8. Think about who you are targeting IF you art targeting someone (and you should be).

There are also some interesting ways to deal with hashtags, and how to think of ‘followers’.

I have never been interested in wide, preferring deep engagement to wide notice. 500 folks who love what you do is more powerful than 1500 folks who never engage. This is why paid links/friends never work. The metrics know the algorithm for fake followers.
